Our Unique Capabilities

Mission Bell has truly unique capabilities in the areas craftsmanship, design, sustainability, and service. Explore why Mission Bell is the leader in architectural millwork in the Greater Bay Area and what we can do for you on your projects.

  • Sourcing Reclaimed Wood

We have a strong network that enables us to source unique Reclaimed and Salvaged Woods. Each of the woods we source has character, unparalleled quality, and often a unique story.

We love to work with design teams on specifying this beautiful material.

  • Millwork Preconstruction and Design Assist

Design Assist (DA) is a collaborative model that can dramatically reduce the cost and schedule of a project, while maintaining the project's quality. By providing millwork consultation, we can make recommendations that are efficient, yet keep the design intent. Our consultative guidance ensures that the best materials are specified appropriately and maximizes potential LEED Credits.

Included in our preconstruction and DA:
    • Accurate conceptual cost models, budgets, and gross magnitude pricing (GMP) pricing
    • Comparisons, value analysis, and potential cost savings
  • Shop Tour and Lunch & Learn Presentations

Mission Bell offers presentations on a variety of millwork topics, including Reclaimed Wood, Design Assist, technology, LEED, and more.

      Presentation Locations:
    • Our Morgan Hill manufacturing facility
    • At your office

Jerod Creese, LEED AP, XL Construction
"Thanks again for hosting the XL Project Engineers last week. I got great feedback from our team that it was extremely informative and beneficial to them. We view MB as a great partner and we always appreciate the help that you provide our team."

    Hawley Peterson Snyder

John Spotorno, AIA, LEED AP, Hawley Peterson Snyder Architecture
"The shop is awesome. Thanks for the tour. The pieces for Napa are coming along nicely."

  • BIM Team

Collaborating through BIM enables us to virtually build millwork in advance of fabricating it. By using BIM, our preconstruction, design assist, and engineering departments work closely with the architectural design team to clarify details and ensure we build it right early on.

Using Navisworks, the architect and contractor can use the millwork BIM models to avoid clashes in the field with other trades that would cause re-work and delay the schedule.

By investing more time with BIM at the beginning, projects move more efficiently – saving time and money as well as accelerating the schedule.

  • Veneer Consultation & Lay-up

One of our key differentiator is our ability to lay-up veneer in house. We can recommend the veneer application, species, cut, matching within a panel, substrate material, finishing, and LEED considerations. We have established a good rapport with all major veneer vendors and are able to source veneer to meet desired aesthetics for projects.

Because of the volume of work we do, Mission Bell is often the first to know about special veneer as it becomes available.

  • Expanded Mill

To have more control over schedule, quality, and costs, we invested in a new Wood Mill Cell. Our shop’s Wood Mill Cell is 5,000 square feet and houses five milling machines that help us better handle project schedule and quality.
