BIM Team - Modeling for Architects
- The team consists of Millwork Preconstruction / Design Assist and Engineering.
- Leveraging the digital model using Revit software to develop BIM models in the design assist process. BIM enables us to understand the millwork details for an entire project far in advance of manufacturing casework.
- The BIM collaboration process of modeling and detailing each area with the architects, working alongside the Design team, enables us to get instant feedback on details for millwork items.
- The BIM team process eliminates the need to interpret architectural drawings, submit shop drawings, wait for redlines, send out RFIs for clarifications, and then resubmit shop drawings again. As a result, the project saves time, money, and the schedule can be accelerated.

Millwork Preconstruction and Design Assist
- Prepare accurate conceptual cost models, budgets and GMP pricing.
- Provide comparisons, value analysis, and potential cost savings.
- Design Assist is a collaborative model that will dramatically reduce the cost and schedule of a project, while maintaining quality and performance.
- DA provides consultative guidance in detailing and constructability of millwork assemblies, in keeping with the aesthetics of the architect's design intent.
- DA provides consultative guidance and experience in regards to integrating and specifying materials appropriately.
- DA provides consultative guidance and experience working on LEED projects, in conjunction with our familiarity with green materials to maximize LEED Credits.
- DA builds and facilitates collaborative processes with the design team.

Sourcing Unique Material
- Established sources and rapports with a myriad of small independent recycle - reclaim lumber specialists and mills.
- We purchase recycled and reclaimed lumber with unique characteristics, and intriguing stories, to work with design teams, in giving this special material new life as paneling, cabinetry, and millwork assemblies in their special projects.
- Heavy milling equipment capabilities to address and properly work with this material.

Comprehensive Veneer Consultation and Layup
- Design Assist analysis of veneer application in determination of species, cut/slicing, matching of adjacent leaves, matching of leaves within a panel, core substrates, finishing, and LEED requirements.
- Established rapport with all major veneer vendors, in being able to source the appropriate cut, footage, lengths, and special characteristics needed to meet the aesthetics of the project.
- In house veneer layup, panel processing and finishing maintaining complete control in executing the design criteria specified.

Millwork Seminars and Continued Learning
- Mission Bell offers a wide array of presentations on millwork topics that follow the Manual of Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS), as well as presentations tailored to our client's needs and interest.
- Our San Francisco Showroom serves as the best venue for presentations, with its many material samples and millwork assemblies, however we will also visit and present at our client's spaces as well.
- Our Morgan Hill Shop features 100,000 SF + of LEAN manufacturing space, a tour of our facility offers an unparalleled sense of what a modern millwork plant is capable of producing, and serves as a reinforcing follow up to one of our millwork presentations.
