BIM Team, Modeling for Architects
Mission Bell's Building Information Modeling (BIM) Team consists of people familiar with Millwork Preconstruction, Design Assist and engineering. By using Revit software to develop BIM models in the design assist process, we gain a better understanding of the millwork details and are better able to communicate how they will integrate with other aspects of the project far in advance of actually manufacturing the casework. By virtually building via BIM we are able to collaborate with architects, contractors and other trade partners and make adjustments quickly and cost-effectively so that costly change orders are avoided.
Collaborating through BIM circumvents the inefficient process of trying to interpret architectural drawings, submitting shop drawings waiting for redlines, sending out RFI's for clarifications and then re-submitting shop drawings again. As a result, projects move more efficiently - saving time, money and accelerating the project schedule.
- The team consists of Millwork Preconstruction / Design Assist and Engineering.
- Leveraging the digital model using Revit software to develop BIM models in the design assist process, will enable us to understand the millwork details for an entire project far in advance of manufacturing casework.
- The BIM collaboration process of modeling and detailing each area with the architects, working alongside the Design team, enables us to get instant feedback on details for millwork items.
- The BIM team process eliminates the need to interpret architectural drawings, submit shop drawings, wait for redlines, send out RFIs for clarifications, and then resubmit shop drawings again. As a result, the project saves time, money, and the schedule can be accelerated.
