Stanford is considered one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in the world.

In 2009, David Rumsey, the owner of one of the largest North and South American map collections in the United States, committed to donate his physical and digital map collection to Stanford University. Upon this agreement, Stanford dedicated a space in their library to showcase the amazing map collection.
