Sharks Ice is an ice rink located in San Jose that is used as the official training facility for the National Hockey League - San Jose Sharks team. It also serves as the home arena for the San Jose State University Spartans ice hockey team.

In 2015, the Barracuda minor league hockey team moved from their Minnesota facility to the Sharks Ice facility in San Jose. Upon doing so, the San Jose Sharks welcomed the team in style by building them beautiful new facilities. However, not to be outdone, the Sharks also renovated their own locker room, coaches’ room, equipment room, and players’ lounge.

Mission Bell was pleased to be able to complete the custom millwork and casework for the local team and their new friends. Moreover, we were especially thrilled when the Project Architect, Scott Smithwick of Devcon Construction, said the “project would not have been possible without our partnership with Mission Bell”.

Success came from efficiently working within a tight schedule and responding to changing customer needs. A few weeks into the project, the Sharks decided that they wanted all of the trash bins to be enclosed by casework. The added scope required us to design, build, and install all new casework within the existing ten week design and construction schedule. Lastly, having the Reclaimed Reservoir Redwood in stock we were able quickly fabricate and install the wood without having to wait on a third party.

The result was a beautiful new space that is sure to please the Sharks, the Barracudas, and guests visiting the facility.
