TweetKaiser Permanente is the leader in healthcare management services. In 2009, Kaiser expanded their medical offices and opened a new state-of-the-art facility and headquarter office in Oakland, CA. As part of the expansion, Mission Bell was selected early on to provide the custom millwork and casework needed to make the hospital functional as well as beautiful.
At the very beginning, Mission Bell provided value analysis, constructability advice, mock-ups, and BIM models for this project. Shortly thereafter, we began building, delivering and installing all of the plastic laminate cabinetry and millwork for the hospital. This flagship facility includes special features that are expected to become the model for future healthcare facilities, specific ally for Kaiser Permanente. Of special note, are the modular patient headwalls that were specially designed and built in collaboration with Fry Reglet. These headwalls required coordination with the hospital headwall device supplier and the general contractor to enclose their system and achieve the architects design intent.
