Founded in Japan in 2001, JINS Eyewear has become a global leader in crafting stylish, high-quality, innovative eyewear. Unique to JINS is their customer experience and East meets West showroom design. Here, a customer can browse, purchase, and watch their prescription eyewear being crafted in just 30 minutes.

With a conceptual design and a not-to-exceed construction budget, Kwan Henmi Architects approached Mission Bell’s Design Assist and Preconstruction team to request our collaboration in developing the interior of JINS USA flagship store located on Union Square in San Francisco. Through an extensive series of drawings, renderings, and 3D modeling, including foam core mock-ups and full size prototypes, we not only met the architects' and owners’ design intent in balancing both aesthetic and functional requirements, but we stayed within budget and on schedule. Our beautiful eyewear displays are made from translucent simulated porcelain (Krion) and include high intensity recessed LED lighting. Additionally, we created displays set in beautiful White Oak casework that include both free-standing and wall mounted displays. As the finishing touch, in rounding out the project, we developed similar displays for the store front windows suspending them on a stainless cabling system.
