Established in 2007 by husband-and-wife Mark Heising and Elizabeth Simons, the Heising-Simons Foundation is dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions for the environment, supporting groundbreaking research in science, and enhancing the education of children.

According to Project Architect, Sharon Refvem, Mission Bell's unique Reclaimed Transbay Douglas Fir was selected as the defining feature for the Foundation's new 10,000 square-foot headquarters not only because of its beautiful patina and unique story but because of Heising Simon's primary doctrine of advancing a Green Gold standard for environmental sustainability. We were pleased to transform the Reclaimed Wood into the complicated undulating walls for their reception desk, public spaces, conference rooms, library, and planters.┬áIn addition to the use of Reclaimed Wood, we also built and installed a blind door, a library ladder, and provided custom casework for the work room, conference rooms, and café/break rooms.
