Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED), a premier architectural design firm, has undergone a refreshingly creative revamp of their San Francisco office. Having won over 200 awards in their 100+ year history, it’s no wonder the design for their own office represents them so well.

HED carefully chose Mission Bell's Sutter Home White Oak Reclaimed Wood for the reception desk. The desk's exposed finger jointing not only shows the thickness of the Oak, but highlights the unique wine stain in the wood grain through the continuous waterfall progression from the face down the leg.

In contrast to the Reclaimed Wood, the break area boasts a gleaming white solid surface island with seating that provides ample space away from the regular work environment to cultivate ideas in a more casual setting. Due to the specifications of the island, it was molded into form instead of jointing. The collaborative effort of HED and Mission Bell enabled us to overcome this challenge in a timely manner.

From the start to finish, the office design displays how the HED San Francisco team effortlessly balances work with play.
